Description

Apex Locator to determine the position of the apical constriction & length of the root canal space

Eighteeth E-Pex Apex Locator with its compact size and stable design allows excellent flexibility during procedures. It works based on the advanced multiple frequency network impedance measurement technology and automatic calibration. These ensure the measurements are accurate.

Bright LCD with color-coded measurements
When the file reaches the front region of the apical foramen, the screen displays the white indicated strips
When the file reaches the position nearby the apical foramen, the screen displays the green indicated strips
When the screen light the red indicated strips, means the file has exceeded the apical foramen, a rapid beep sound will be generated at the same time
* Adjustable keys and alarm volume
* Functions activated when integrated with E-CONNECT(endomotor)
* Auto Start-stop- Motor starts moving when the file enters the canal and stops when withdrawn
* Apical Reverse- When the file reaches pre-set apical reverse point, user can define whether the file starts moving in reverse direction
* Apical Slow Down- To preserve the cemento dental junction and avoid file-separation, speed of motor slows down when the file is near apical region
* Apical Torque Reduction- In addition to apical slow down, torque reduction at apical third prevents chances of file separation

Please Note: Accuracy in readings for apex locators is claimed to be 97.7% accurate. Readings may vary from the conventional method of working length determination (radiographic method) & may fluctuate in cases where the precautions (recommended in user manual) are not followed

Direction to Uses :

Preparation:

Ensure that the patient is comfortably positioned, and the dental operatory is set up for endodontic treatment.
Sterilize the apex locator probe and cover it according to standard infection control procedures.

Device Setup:

Turn on the E-Pex Apex Locator and allow it to complete the automatic calibration process.
Connect the apex locator probe to the device.

Patient Isolation:

Isolate the tooth with a rubber dam to keep the area dry and free from saliva.

Access Cavity Preparation:

Access the pulp chamber and prepare the canal for instrumentation.
Insertion of File:

Insert a sterile endodontic file into the root canal. Ensure that the file is properly seated and not in contact with the canal walls.

Initial Measurement:

Gently advance the file until it reaches the coronal part of the canal.
Observe the readings on the LCD display. The initial position is usually marked by a specific color code on the screen.

Working Length Determination:

Continue advancing the file slowly while monitoring the display.
Note the color changes on the screen, indicating the proximity of the file to the apical foramen.
Stop when the screen displays the desired measurement or when the red indicator appears (indicating that the file has exceeded the apical foramen).

Additional Functions:

If integrated with an endomotor (E-CONNECT), utilize additional functions such as Auto Start-Stop, Apical Reverse, Apical Slow Down, and Apical Torque Reduction according to the specific requirements of the case.

File Removal:

After determining the working length, carefully withdraw the file from the canal.

Cleaning and Sterilization:

Clean and sterilize the apex locator probe and file according to recommended protocols.
